I discovered the surprisingly wide range of ways tomatoes can be used: from familiar savoury dishes to unexpected desserts, which inspired the central idea for the book. I decided that the visual language would mirror this progression. As the recipes move from classic and approachable to more unusual and experimental, the layout gradually shifts as well. The early pages remain structured and restrained, but as the recipes become more bizarre, the design becomes increasingly expressive, introducing chaotic doodles, playful interventions, and moments where the recipe text itself begins to deconstruct.

While the cookbook itself is conceptually playful, the project also allowed the idea to extend into a website adaptation. The digital format became an opportunity to further develop the book’s personality, translating the visual language of the print layout into interactive elements. Elements such as the doodles gain animated qualities online, bringing the chaotic and expressive moments of the book to life. This extension maintains the same progression found in the print version while using motion and interactivity to amplify the experimental spirit of the project.
